Following the recent election cycle, many have described feeling discouraged by the great abyss that has been created in our communities based on differences in beliefs and values. This has brought up a vast variety of emotions for many people and has resulted in many people describing feelings of uncertainty about what they can do to help heal our community and understand one another. Too many of us have stayed in our circles of like-minded friends, contributing to this abyss. At Crafting Courage, we began to wonder:
- How do we talk to ourselves and one another to bridge the divide that has been created in American Politics?
- How can we enter into the arena of healing from the division with authenticity and compassion for others?
- How can we harness the courage to have conversations necessary for being loving neighbors, friends, sisters, and brothers, especially when we disagree?
In this 10-week group, we will explore these questions using a blend of Dr. Brené Brown's Daring Way™ and Rising Strong™ curricula. If you are seeking to integrate your belief in connection and community but are uncertain how to do that while seeking to understand people who may have different views, this group is intended for you. If we are to come together as a community, we must first be willing to truly see one another, understand one another, and have brave discussion. Join us. Dive deep with us. Heal with us.
